What Data I Collect

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service that does not:

• Use cookies
• Track you across websites
• Collect personally identifiable information
• Fingerprint your device
• Store your IP address

Cloudflare Web Analytics only collects anonymous, aggregated metrics like:

• Page views
• General location (country/region level only)
• Referring sites
• Browser and device type

Why I Collect Data

I use analytics to understand:

• Which content resonates with visitors
• How people find my site
• Basic performance metrics

This helps me improve the site and create better content about data and information design, and exploring.

Local Storage

This site saves a few small pieces of data in your browser's localStorage to remember your preferences:

• Theme preference — light or dark mode
• Temperature unit — whether you prefer °F or °C for the weather display
• Message reactions — any emoji reactions you add to chat bubbles
• Name preference — whether you prefer Leo or Leopold in the header
• Intro state — whether you've seen the intro and/or prefer to skip it
• Visit count & last visit — how many times you've visited and when, used to personalize the welcome message
• Reaction hint — whether the "hold to react" tip has been dismissed

This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not sent to any server
• Can be cleared below, by clearing your browser data, or by double-tapping a reaction badge

Your Rights

Since I don't collect personal data, there's nothing to request, delete, or export. Any local preferences stored on your device (theme, reactions) can be cleared at any time using the button in the Local Storage section above. You're already in full control.

Categories of Information Collected: Only anonymous, aggregated analytics (page views, general region, browser type). No personal identifiers.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information: I don't sell your information. I don't even collect it.

Data Retention

Cloudflare Web Analytics retains anonymous, aggregated data for analytical purposes. No personally identifiable information is retained. Theme preferences stored in localStorage remain on your device until you clear browser data.

International Data Transfers

Cloudflare operates a global network. Anonymous analytics data may be processed in various regions, but no personal data is transferred or stored.

Children's Privacy

This site does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Since no personal data is collected, this policy applies to all ages.
